Finland

I was born on the 17th December 1944 in Jeppo, Nykarleby, Finland, the town of the poets.

From 1989-91 I attended some sculpture courses held by art teacher Arto Penttinen from Jakobstad, Finland. In these popular evening courses I learned how to sculpture both animals and the human body.

From 1996-1999 I learned how to melt glass to take the shape of bowls, vases, plates, fruit-plates etc. Having melted the objects I then decorated them with different kinds of motifs to make them look like real works of art.

I started to paint in autumn 2005 and right now I have about 1000 paintings. As a pastellist I am totally autodidact.

At the moment I live in the town of Närpes, Finland. As I am now a pensioner, I have got plenty of time to devote myself to pastel painting. Most of my pastel paintings are made in dry pastel. When painting, I mostly use soft pastels but also pastel pencils. My style is mainly naivistic, and the motifs are both humoristic and satirical with creative reflections from my own imagination. The satirical paintings are intended to provoke thoughts in the observer.
I also have some abstract surrealistic paintings.

My debut poetry collection, "Jag vill trösta dig", appeared in December 1973. The second ed. of the same book appeared in January 1974. The book "Dikter" appeared in the autumn of 1974 at Författarnas Andelsslag under my own name. Totally I have published 17 collections of poems, of which 16 under pseudonym "Victor".
